Goodbye
Well, the day finally came. . . We had to have Di put to sleep this morning and I think it was one of the hardest things I have ever done. We had her outside where she was smiling at us and wagging her tail like she was feeling chipper, we brought her back in for meds and food and she had a seizure. It was very sad. I can’t say anymore right now, it hurts too much.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Oh, I'm so sorry! I cried for days when I had to have Catanova put down. HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh no. I know what you are going through (last month I lost my 17 yo girl who I had since I was 9). Loving animals comes at a high price, but is so worth it. Know that she's all better now, young and healthy, and she's waiting for you!
Oh, Georgi, I am so sorry.I know how you felt about her. Big hug.
Sadie,
That is such sweet story you posted about rainbow bridge! You got me all teared up again! (I am G's daughter; although i wasn't there i balled like a baby- and still am)
Oh, Georgi, I am so sorry. That's so horrible to have to go through. It's never easy. You gave her the greatest gift that a human can give her dog: unconditional love and letting go when you knew she needed to go.
Georgi, It has taken me a few days to even be able to comment. As soon as I saw your title, I just knew it. It had been a long haul for you best friend Di. She was a real trouper and she did her very best to try and get better. You were a wonderful friend and mother to Di. She was so lucky to have someone and a family so wonderful and caring right up until the end. It's easy for me or others to say that, but it is so hard to live it. I've been there before and I will be there again soon I feel.
Knowing that you loved Di and did everything you could was a gift to her. She knows that. She is now without illness and able to run and jump and do all kinds of doggy things! She will be there waiting with her tail a wagging someday when you can see her again. I just know it!!
With my love and prayers, Cindy
These comments make me cry-
