Yes, there is another contest at http://trekcelt.blogspot.com/. This one is to collect box tops for her daughter’s school (Box Tops for Education). All you have to do is go to her blog and tell her you will collect the box tops for her, and then save them as you find them. It is all for a good cause and will only take a few minutes. In addition, I decided that every little bit that I don’t through away will mean that there is a little bit less in the dump.
I have finally finished the baby blanket, yeah!!! It is very cute, a soft yellow, and I used the pattern for Grandma’s favorite dishcloth, just much bigger :-) Now it is on to socks, a pair of BBS and a pair for my daughter that I started last September. The socks for my daughter are the Dublin Rose pattern and are so pretty; hopefully I will find my camera when the packing is started so I can put a picture of them here when they are completed.

Dogs on Thursday
Yeah, my Di is speaking to me again (we brought home bones from the local steak house last night)! I knew she would but she does love to punish me.
We also have a Chihuahua whose name is Lola (her nickname is Loopy), and she is very precious. All she wants from anyone is a cuddle, however she is very afraid when someone she does not know comes to the house, so she will roll on her back and leak. It turns out she has an incontinence issue so she is taking hormones, however with the hormones, we have to watch her blood levels. Loopy has become a very expensive dog as she has several issues with her urinary tract, even Di with her mitro valve prolapse is not as expensive as Loopy is with her UTI’s and incontinence issues; however, we love her anyway, even when she leaks without realizing it. My husband brought her home to me from a puppy mill, he did not realize he was buying her form a puppy mill, as he had never heard of one, but there you go. . . He now knows not to buy any animal from a breeder without checking references, etc. as he has gotten to fork over some of the money for the vet bills. Nevertheless, we love Loopy Lola as much as any other member of the family and would not give her up for anything.
Loopy loves to get dressed up, and always prances when we give her a new outfit to wear. We like to put her in girly clothes because she is so precious and she seems to know how cute she is and wags her little curly tail.
Di and Loopy are great playmates, though Di is often tired from the meds she takes, they play tug of war, and chase the cats together. Loopy does not realize that cats and dogs are not the same, though our cats are all bigger than she is, they still play and have great fun running through the house. First, the cats will chase her and then she will chase the cats, Jill, one of the female cats, will bat at Loopy when she is under the covers and thwap her with her paws until Loopy will get up and play with her.
As you can tell, I love all of our pets. In fact, when I move to Denver I am taking all 5 of them with me, yes, all 5 of them are driving to Denver from Atlanta with me. Do you think I need my head examined?
I get to knit tonight, I have made an appointment with myself and I am knitting no matter what happens, another leak in the plumbing, a broken AC, or grass that needs to be watered. I am delegating all responsibility so I can knit!

Readability Stats
I picked up a link from another blog that is supposed to give the readability statistics of the blogs and of course I followed the link. But I always wonder when I follow these links if these are true or just pick a random response for each person who follows the link. . . Wouldn't it be great to know?

Wahooo, Knitting
Wahooo, I got to knit on the baby blanket that is taking forever :-) 20 whole rows of straight knitting. It was wonderful! The darling little girl was born last Thursday and her blankie is only half done. Maybe I should lock myself in the bathroom and sit on the floor and just knit until I am done??!
Maybe tonight I can do 40 rows (dare I hope)?

Fun and Excitement
This has been the most horrendous couple of weeks, I guess I should thank the heavens above that I am still breathing and getting out of bed each morning. I know this is supposed to be a knitting post, however with travel, getting the house ready to sell, arguing over the price of said house, and working full time, knitting seems to be taking a back seat, which is sad since it relaxes me.
We have been painting the house forever, (the house never seemed that big until we started painting) we finally hired some painters to finish it because we were not getting anywhere. Then of course, we had to pretty up the outside, which needed some serious help since everything was gray and ugly from winter. The giant hill in front of the house took 100 bales of pine straw to pretty it up, and it is still questionable.
The best part of all is that in the middle of all this work on the house, I had to go on travel to south Georgia for work. I am sick of travel, I fall behind in my work and the house gets so dirty. When I got home, the first thing anyone said (yes before they said hello) was that my cat was missing. We have three cats, but my special baby is solid black and her name is Onyx. Carpet had been installed upstairs that day and all the noise and people had scared her, so of course she went into hiding. Daughter 2 and Husband spent the day arguing over where she was (outside, in the attic, in my closet?) but I knew she would come out when she was hungry, she always does. Husband and I went to dinner to discuss the next house project (moving my office upstairs) and we got a call in the middle from Daughter 1 asking us if we were sitting and if the drinks were good (they were). Of course, my first question is what happened. She proceeded to tell me that Daughter 2 had fallen through the ceiling in my bedroom looking for Onyx. I quickly ordered another Long Island ice tea and asked for details as I am rolling on the floor laughing. I mean, I have to laugh or I would just have to give it up. The bad part is that my first question was asking if she found the cat (not was she all right).
Now we have to hire a dry wall installer to come and patch the ceiling, because there is a very LARGE hole in the ceiling of my bedroom; however, Onyx was most appreciative when she came out of the attic through the hole for food and loves.
As you can see, knitting has taken a back seat for a while, but I am working on a baby blanket (slowly) and a pair of socks for Daughter 1. And, my Di is speaking to me again so life is good :-)
